Hey there, it's TILT from Camp High Maintenance. Like many, we started with the humdrum of popup camp design — annoying, large, difficult to transport, hot as f.

So instead we invented the best burner shade there is: the Aluminet Burner Shade. Originally envisioned by Doodle and enhanced by TILT.

We supply only original, authentic Aluminet with 70% reflection and specially reinforced corners and grommets to handle the worst the playa can throw at us.

One of the most precious commodities at Burning Man is an escape from the heat. Shaded areas are 20–45°F cooler than direct sunlight. Our structures have been tested and perfected by actual Burners over many burns.

We only sell to burners who understand the benefit of our bulk buying and design.

Layout Panels

Tie inside grommets together with soft ties (permanent), then clip a carabiner to each outer grommet.

Raise the Poles

Pole cap stays on. Hook carabiners and straps to the cap, then lift each pole one at a time.

Two People

More is always better, but two can do it easily. Just work pole by pole around the perimeter.

Center Pole

Extend the center pole 4 extra feet for better height, shape, and that classic silhouette.

FAQ

Is this genuine Aluminet?

Yes — we buy directly from the importer in California. You're getting the real deal, not a knockoff.

How are you cheaper than other genuine Aluminet providers?

We only sell to Burners and seek to cover our costs. Any small profit goes to support our Mutant Vehicle, the Bioluminescent Slug.

Can you do custom sizes?

Yes, any size is possible. We can also help with design recommendations based on your camp layout.

Can this shade handle the storms at the burn?

This design has lasted through five burns without issues. The lag bolt anchor system and reinforced corners are specifically designed for Black Rock City conditions.

What's the standard shade size?

Our standard design uses 4 panels of 20' × 20' (6m × 6m), giving 40' × 40' total — that's 1,600 sq ft (~150 m²) of coverage.
